NBC's The Biggest Loser television program was launching a new product to sell "Know Your Number" kits to consumers which would need a customized payment solution using Authorize.net. It required building a site from scratch, not a pre-built Shopping Cart. KMScreative built the site in about 3 weeks using the CakePHP framework, which allows us to develop smarter, more organized, and most important for our customers, quicker.

To put together the Know Your Number site in 3 weeks, which included taking orders and processing credit cards, allowing customers to log in and answer a questionnaire, track the status of their order and lab results, and custom reporting to an Excel spreadsheet for vendors was no small feat.

Using the CakePHP framework allowed KMScreative to organize the code into smaller pieces, by keeping as much as possible the "Views", or the code that makes the site look the way it does, separate from the logic that makes it all work together.

CakePHP has become, by far, the framework of choice for KMScreative to use, even over CodeIgniter. It's built in ability to quickly set up the models which allow you to grab data and keep the SQL separate as well as the ability to route to different pages quickly and display error messages, and even troubleshooting code, have improved our ability to develop a site quickly.
